In 2020, I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning. With a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, it might be an unaccustomed journey, but it has provided me with the skills and tools to view a city's processes as a large system or better understand how a city's design, priorities, and culture affect the lives of individuals living there. I consider myself adept to quickly identify connections and solve problems where necessary.
I returned to the US in 2022 from living in Madrid, Spain and working as a Language and Cultural Assistant. Along with everyone else, COVID presented unique challenges and opportunities for me and my professional goals. I welcomed a new adventure and chose to accept a temporary, contract position working in the Spanish public education. I used my time over there to learn more Spanish, broaden my understanding of development patterns and city infrastructure, and simply absorb what I could about the culture and Spanish life.
I am now working in transportation planning for an engineering firm in Atlanta, Georgia. I utilize my knowledge of land use and transportation planning to encourage safety design and multi-mobility solutions in a car-dominated city. My skills in geographical information systems (GIS), data analysis, adobe suite, and public engagement allow me to effectively gather information and perspectives and inform our clients of current conditions and best practices for the future.
